When I browsed through your most recent deviations, I thought to myself "Hmm, this is actually pretty good!". Here, it clearly shows that you're definitely on your way somewhere with photography, and you're starting to adapt different techniques when shooting your subject. And I think that flowers are a wonderful way to start learning.

Even though you're still a learner, this is the most professional photograph in your gallery so far. It's not original in its particular genre, as this type of close-up of flowers has been done many, many times before, and I've seen lots of them. Nevertheless, I truly enjoy this type of flower photography (I suppose, because I'm such an admirer of flowers), and considering your lack of professional equipment, this is well-executed, and frankly, I'm impressed.

What makes this picture stand out from your other pieces, is the focus on the flower, and a blurred backdrop, which doesn't become a distraction for the beholder, and the sole focus is on the flower itself rather than the entire image. This is a step in the right direction, and like I said, you're really on your way somewhere. The composition is great here.
